Vehicle Purchase or Importation

Due to the high taxes on motor vehicles we do not recommend the purchase of a new vehicle in Portugal. The second-hand car market has blossomed in the last 5 years and we will point our clients to the key web sites for second-and vehicles and, for a fee, assist with any negotiations and administration in Portuguese.

New residents with expensive vehicles or those which have a sentimental value, have a maximum period within which to import these as part of their personal possessions. We have preferred partners who will perform vehicle importation including obtaining necessary certificate of conformity, customs clearance and import duty exemption, if applicable, at a fixed price.
